Install OWA 2003 only on server running windows 2003I want to install OWA only (from a exchange 2003 CD) onto a server running
windwos 2003 standard server edition. I put in the disk and I've installed IIS and ASP. How do i get to install only the OWA component of exchange 2003 that will then communicate with the proper exchange 2003 server? So what you're saying is that the OWA in 2003 exchange is an integral component and that I'll have to revert to creating "virtual servers"? Because i think in 2000 it was actually separated and you could make front end (where only OWA is installed) and back-end servers (full fledged exchange server).... A 2000/2003 FE server still has a full Exchange installation, but you tell it that it is a FE server so that it will act as a kind of OWA proxy, connecting to the BE server. I am not sure how creating a Virtual Server would help you get OWA on a separate server (if I understand your intention correctly), you can still only do this on an Exchange Server. Lee. -- ___________________________________ Outlook Web Access for PDA and WAP: www.leederbyshire.com ___________________________________ Right. So I'll have to install it there as well. So basically if i have
server 2003, the steps to follow would be: 1. (theres no need to do forest/domain prep as it was done when installing the back-end) install exchange 2003 on a stand alone server 2. select it to be front end. That's all? so then when a person wants to use outlook web access or rpc over http, the request will come to this front end server which will then pass on the request to the front end server?
