E2K3 Front End - Back End with POP3

I have 3 E2K3 Back End servers and 2 E2K3 Front End servers and I am trying
to configure POP3 access.

I thought that I could simply point a POP3 client such as Outlook Express to
use one of my Front End servers as the POP3 and SMTP server and it would
work.  The only way that I am able to get this to work is to specify my
actual Back End server as the POP3 server and then the Front End server as
the SMTP server.  I would like to be able to tell clients to use the Front
End server for both so that I have the flexibility to move users mailboxes
between the Back End servers with minimal client disruptions.

Any ideas as to how POP3 access will work with the FE and BE servers?

Thanks,
Fred

Have you got the POP3 service and the VSI's running on the Front End
as well as the back end?
If the FE is on SSL are you going in on 993? (BE still stays on 110)
