Public Folder Contacts IssueHey Guys;
I have a 2003 sbs box which is running exchange sp2. We had about 500 contacts from outlook express which need to be shared among the entire team so I decided to create the contact in public folders. Basically we imported all the contacts into the address book but when the users (All Office 2003) try to open the address book the records don't syncronize properly. E.g If you go into some records they are missing information or don't even exist. Sometimes Outlook won't even associate the message with an address. Has anybody had any similar issues to this? Everything else on the exchange server seems to be fine. -Louis Louishp <Loui***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote:

I imported the contacts by firstly bringing them into Outlook, then copying them into the public folder. Some users get all the contacts and some don't. After I import the contacts the user who was used to import them can see everything, however when that user logs off and logs on again (mainly from a different PC) details start going missing. By syncronization I mean when you run outlook and it updates the mailbox / public folders from the server. -Louis Show quoteHide quote "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" wrote: > Louishp <Loui***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote: > > Hey Guys; > > > > I have a 2003 sbs box which is running exchange sp2. public folder with a mailbox folder, but what you can do that's standard is add the public folder to your Outlook public folder favorites, and then in the properties configure it to be available offline. Then it'll synchronize with the offline folders when Outlook is connected. -- Show quoteHide quoteEd Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." .. I'll give that a go. -Louis Show quoteHide quote "Ed Crowley [MVP]" wrote: > There might be some third party tool that'll do what you want, synchronize a > public folder with a mailbox folder, but what you can do that's standard is > add the public folder to your Outlook public folder favorites, and then in > the properties configure it to be available offline. Either the data is there or it's not. For the users who can't see it now, does it show up for them in OWA? Note - if you decide to use the offline function (in favorites, and then making it available offline) you may run into problems with multiple edits to an item unless your users have Reviewer permissions only - expect some version conflict errors.
