I used the cscript smptreg.vbs command to register an event on arrival for
the smtp virtual server to add a disclaimer to all outgoing emails. It's not
working. Does anyone have any experience with this? I followed the Microsoft
KB to a tee, and no luck... Help.

I believe you need to have a front end/back end (2 server) config.
Do you have that?

No, I had a SBS 2000 server and upgraded to a Windows Server 2003 with a full
implementation of Exchange 2003 Standard.

The event sink process worked on the SBS 2000 server. That's how we had the
disclaimers running before. But I can't get it to work on this 2003 server...

I'm asking because of this:

Read implication #2.

I ran into this myself.

Unless you really enjoy ___ around with event sinks, you might check out
www.exclaimer.com - I don't think it's expensive.

What do you mean?  Event sinks are nearly as much fun as a bleeding ulcer.
Then again, maybe they're a cause of bleeding ulcers...

I gave the disclaimer event sink about 30 minutes of my time. Then I bought
Disclaimer.

For an SMTP event sink to fire, the message has to be in MIME, not MAPI,
format.  You'll have to force a content conversion.  You can do this byu
putting the sink on a boundary server and routing through it, or by creating
a second SMTP virtual server on the current host and routing throiugh that.
