#550 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver Error

Rob
I have a strange occurrence that I can't figure out. I have mail-enabled
public folders that people inside and outside the organization send to. The
Anonymous and Default settings are set to 'Contributor' and this has been
working properly for several years.

All of a sudden every so often I receive the below error in an NDR. The odd
thing is that if I send an email afterwards to the same folder it arrives. So
this is a sporadic and random problem. There are probably a 100 emails that
go to this folder on a daily basis and out of that 100 two or three return an
NDR.

Hello

I had a similar issue and found one solution.  The solution or method may
apply to you also.
In my case a space in the alias of the Public Folder caused the issue, but
only when HUB-ServerX  was used.

I had a mail enabled public folder that worked OK.
The system was upgraded from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007.
A end user reported a similar issue that you describes (550 5.5.2 STOREDRV)
A little digging and using     Get-MessageTrackingLog -Recipients
"publicfold***@mydomain.com" -server HUB-ServerX  -EventId fail |where
{$_.Source -eq "STOREDRIVER"}
My problem only occurred when  HUB-ServerX  was used.
Another combined HUB and Mailbox server did not have the issue.

I then used the Exchange 2007 GUI "Public Folder Management Console" to have
a look at the Public Folder in question.
(The GUI gives different choices if the Public Folder is selected on left
half or right half of the screen)
GUI - select Public Folder in question - right  click - properties  and "
illegal character" .
My Public Folder in question had a space in "Exchange General" - "Alias"
By replacing the space  with legal character my problem was solved.
In my case a space in the alias of the Public Folder caused the issue.

I hope that this may help you or at least  point you in the right direction.
