2 DC and 1 mail DomainCurrently there is running a system in different countries all on the same
Domain. However, the branches overseas, regarding the time difference want to run an independant system, meaning having their own DC/AD, etc. The only problem now is how to setup the Exchange Server as the old mail Domain xyz.com should also be used in the overseas office. Is there a way in Exchange 2007 that we can use the same mail Domain on both end even we have two independent DC also not in the same Forest. Thank you What is your ultimate goal here? It seems from your last sentence that you
want to separate the companies into their own Forest's? -- Show quoteHide quoteJohn Oliver, Jr MCSE, MCT, CCNA Exchange MVP 2009 Microsoft Certified Partner "Somchai" <Somc***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:D042F689-66C4-4585-B5C0-256E2F2E71AB@microsoft.com... > Currently there is running a system in different countries all on the same > Domain. keep the same mail domain in both companies. Is it possible to route/forward download the mail to the old structure or even can we setup on the new structure the same mail domain? One being Active Directory and the other being
Exchange. For Exchange part I do not see this possible while keeping the same SMTP domain namespace without a lot of headaches. You could either have the overseas create their own SMTP domain namespace or keep them as part of your Exchange Organization while hosting their SMTP domain. For ease of administration, licensing, etc. while in separate Forests, I would look at having them create their own. My two cents, others may chime in to give their two cents. -- Show quoteHide quoteJohn Oliver, Jr MCSE, MCT, CCNA Exchange MVP 2009 Microsoft Certified Partner "Somchai" <Somc***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CCBAD5F9-4A4D-412E-8DD9-2426545EB79D@microsoft.com... > That is correct. reply. I certainly would be interested in the instruction from Alex, I then could make a decision if I want to go ahead with it or maybe use a more common method like pop3, forwarding or else...... Alex where could I obtain these instructions? Thanks in advance Show quoteHide quote "Somchai" wrote: > Currently there is running a system in different countries all on the same > Domain. In my case, I created a 2003 forest trust, created conditional forwarders in DNS, and in Exchange, created an accepted domain for the other domain, created an email address policy that would only apply to users in the OTHER forest (using company name filter). Then created the users in the exchange forest using Linked mailbox option... This should create a disabled user account in the exchange forest but create the mailbox that the user in the second forest has rights to. -- Message posted via WinServerKB.com http://www.winserverkb.com/Uwe/Forums.aspx/microsoft-exchange/200902/1 Dear Alan,
Thank you very much for these links. I wll certainly have a look at them. I will let you know further proceedings.
