OWA shows "There are no items to show in this view"I implemented an Stand alone Exchange server 2k3 sp2 on W2k3 sp2 to migrate
our Lotus Notes users and to do some testing while we built our Front end + clustered backend solution. We have since implemented the the front end/backend solution however I wanted to test URLscan on the dev server which had OWA running on it. To test, I created a hostfile to direct me to that server which still had the the cert on it however now I get OWA to come up and I can see all of the standard folders under the folder list however in the middle colum that SHOULD display the emails, I get "There are no items to show in this view". In the right pane I get "No items are currently selected". I have tried adjusting the view and that didn't work. I removed URL scan as I thought this may be causing the issue however it still dosn't work. Even if I try to go to the server by IP https:\\IPAddress\exchange it still dosn't work. This is delaying our implementation, any ideas? Any help would be appreciated, thanks. CK <C*@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote:

Did OWA work fine before you did that? I haven't run that in a while , but you might check out http://windowsitpro.com/article/articleid/96217/running-urlscan-on-exchange-2003.html http://teoheras.blogspot.com/2005/10/urlscan-exchange-2003-windows-2003-sp1.html http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823175 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309508 > To test, I created a What do you see if you're on the local server (http://localhost/exchange) ?> hostfile to direct me to that server which still had the the cert on > it however now I get OWA to come up and I can see all of the standard > folders under the folder list however in the middle colum that SHOULD > display the emails, I get "There are no items to show in this view". > In the right pane I get "No items are currently selected". > > I have tried adjusting the view and that didn't work. that box, but I determined that the test user account that I created was tweeking on me for some reason. I have an admin account that I moved over and owa was displaying fine for it. So according to your article, there is no benefit of installing urlscan, not even for rpc over http? Is there anything else that we can implement comparable to urlscan that will harden security?
