Exchange RoutingHi All
Can anyone suggest a way of routing all mail from an internal Exchange environment out to a smart host for scanning before it is delivered to internal recipients ? So you are NOT hosting your external SMTP domain with your Exchange Server?

2003/2000. - It's not recommended to route internal messages through non-Exchange MTAs. - Most smarthosts won't know about internal message routing and topologies, and thus be unable to route messages back correctly. (particularly in anything other than a single Exchange server topology) - During SMTP routing and message conversion, most message properties are lost. -- Show quoteHide quoteBharat Suneja Microsoft Corporation blog: exchangepedia.com/blog This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. inbound email. All outbound mail for external delivery is also scanned by the same provider in the cloud I would like ALL mail to be scanned including mail delivered between internal recipients by the same provider I guess without third party software this is not possible natively in Exchange ? Upgrade to Exchange 2007, which
passes all mail through the hub transport role server, and install antivirus on the hub transport. Or implement a store-based antivirus solution on your Exchange 2003 or earlier version. -- Show quoteHide quoteEd Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." ..
