Outlook 07: Rule only working sporadicallyHi guys, I have a rule on Outlook that copies outgoing messages into
my inbox. Since I switched my account to a hosted exchange server, the rule only works sometimes. This is my only rule and there doesn't seem to be any pattern about when/why/who the rule runs for. The outgoing email is still copied to my sent folder but only sometimes makes it to my inbox too. Any ideas how to fix this so the rule applies every time I send a message? Thanks in advance for advice, Jo Boppy <therealbo***@yahoo.com> wrote:

This really makes no sense to me. You have it in Sent Items. And if you wanted a copy in your inbox for some reason (??) , you could CC or BCC yourself on the original message. And the rule mightn't make sense to you but is necessary to me - I can file the incoming and outgoing messages in the relevant folders without having to go into the sent folder to get the outgoing one and file it separately. Do you know about "Find Related Messages" and search folders? When you find what you want, Select All & right-click Move to Folder. That's how I do it. Works perfectly and I don't end up with duplicate cr@p all over my mailbox :-) Regardless, Outlook rules are entirely Outlook things, and there's more expert help to be had in the OL newsgroup.
