Hi, I have been running one Exchange server for the last two years which is
now running out of disk space and needs replacing.  I have built a new server
and added it to the same AD domain.  I installed Exchange onto this server
and can now see both servers in Exchange Server Manager.  How do I move all
mailboxes to the new server and force it to route all emails etc. so I can
decomission the first Exchange server?  Also it runs Blackberry Enterprise
Server which I will need to migrate.  Any suggestions?

Russell

Hi Martin, this article concentrates on migrating from Exchange 2000 to
Exchange 2003.  I would like to migrate from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2003,
the other issue is that I have already installed Exchange 2003 on the 2nd
server as an additional Exchange server rather than deploy as the first
Exchange server.  Should I uninstall the 2nd Exchange server and start again?

Actually I should have mentioned on the 2000 to 2003 article, follow it step
by but start at section 2.
From there follow it along!

No, the new server will always be the second server and that is just fine.
Once you are done with all the move processes, then you remove the first
server.
So I would follow the MSExchange.org article, then drop back and do the MS
KB to finish things up!

Once you are satisfied everything is working right, shut down the Exchange
services on the old server for a week or two to make sure everything works
before uninstalling Exchange.
