Database Size Limit issue on Exchange Enterprise after migration

Hi!

I have just upgraded my Exchange Server 2003 SP2 Standard to Exchange Server
2003 Enterprise SP2.
Prior to that, I had set up the first and only database to its maximum size
which is 75 GB by modifying the registry. I have not changed anything in the
registry since the migration.
I know that the theoretical limit of my database is now 8000 GB but in fact
the maximum size for my current database is still 75 GB. I can see that
because it dismounts every two days and I have to move some mailboxes to a
second storage group/second database to fix the problem.

How can I ensure that there's no 75 GB limit anymoreon my first database ?
Do I need to fix the registry?

Help appreciated.

This sometimes happens in an upgrade.

For a mailbox store, click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\Server
name\Private-Mailbox Store GUID

For a public folder store, click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\Server
name\Public-Public Store GUID

Create a New DWORD Value and In the New Value #1 box, type Database Size
Limit in Gb, and then press ENTER.

Right-click Database Size Limit in Gb, and then click Modify.

Click Decimal, and then type 8000 in the Value data box.

Click OK, and then exit Registry Editor.

Restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service.

Look for an event id 1216 in the Application Log and that will show you the
updated limit.

Hopefully this will help you.

Ashwin

Thanks Ashwin,
I did as you tols me and got an event id 1217 (not 1216) as follows:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store
Event Category: General
Event ID: 1217
Date:  3/5/2009
Time:  9:27:12 PM
User:  N/A
Computer: CLEVELAND
Description:
The Exchange store 'First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (CLEVELAND)' has
unlimited storage capacity. The current physical size of this database (the
..edb file and the .stm file) is 76 GB. The only size constraint for this
database is the maximum size that is supported by the database storage
engine (8000 GB).

For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp.

So I guess it's OK by now.
Best regards
Nicolas

yeah It is event id 1217 in enterprise edition and 1216 in standard edition.

This is another way to find which is your exchange version if you find event
id 1216 it is Std edition and 1217 it is enterprise edition. so this shows
you have sucessfully upgraded the box.
