Exchange mail routing / Hub Transport ServersLocal Site 1: 1 X Exchange 2007 Server (HT/ CAS/ MBX) Remote site 2: 1 X legacy Exchange 2000 Remote site 3: 1 X Exchange 2007 Server (HT/ CAS/ MBX) Remote site 4: no Exchange Server (mailboxes hosted in local site 1) Exchange 2000 is currently in the process of being decommissioned My company is currently planning to host all our site2 user mailboxes on our local Exchange 2007 server. We are also currently planning CCR for our local site, and an additional local HT / CAS Server In terms of capacity this is possible, however I’m concerned about mail routing for remote sites..(assuming that we will be a native Exchange 2007 organisation shortly) Our local Exchange 2007 Server acts as HT for site 4 and will shortly do so for site 2 (after we remove the final Exchange 2000 server). My question is should we implement an additional HT / CAS Server for each remote site, or will an additional local HT / CAS server suffice? Many thanks Every AD site requires its own CA and HT role servers, which can be on the
same box if it can handle the load, and you should consider two of each role in a site for redundancy. If the server is not clustered it can host all three roles, MB, CA and HT, subject to load, but you would not have any redundancy. -- Show quoteHide quoteEd Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." ..
