Active Directory Name Change-how 2 move original email to new mailI would like assistance with the following situation please:
We have our Active Directory profiles configured on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 server. We have our Exchange Mailboxes configured on a Exchange Server 2007 server. What I need help with is when a user marries, I create a new AD profile. I need help with moving the entire mailbox from the original user's profile to the new profile. I know that I can individually access their original email account and one by one, forward each email to the newly created AD account. However, that is time consuming when some of the users have over 1000+ messages and doesn't get their calendar moved. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you! Don't do it that way. Just change the names in AD, add a new SMTP address
if required, and leave the account and mailbox alone. -- Show quoteHide quoteEd Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." .. Is there a reason why you create a new account? you could just modify the
existing one to reflect the new name. How about exporting and importing the mailbox to the new account? You don’t need to change accounts, just right click the user and rename.
Additionally add a new SMTP addy if needed.
