I need to install 2 Exchange 2007 cluster nodes (so MBX role only), but need
to use the activation ‘grace period’
1. Can you confirm the length of time the grace period permits?
2. Is there any limitation to functionality while the exchange servers are
not yet activated?

I have a feeling it's 120 days (I forget!) However once the license grace
period is over Exchange 2007 reverts to Exchange 2007 Standard
functionality.

It does? I don't remember that. I thought it would just complain about not
being licensed.
Ill have to check my lab later.

The Technet reference appears to no longer exist.

According to this, no loss of functionality after the expiration:

I believe you cannot have more than 5 Databases / Storage Groups.

Yeah, One of our customers was ranting and raving about that one. They
were convinced that because they had it on a cluster it was Enterprise
and were entitled to 50 stores. Had to point out that they were locked
to 5 until they punched in those oh-so-onerous letters in the license
key. Much sheepish looking was had, feet were shuffled and keys were
entered.

Clever though - makes you buy the key and enter it!

Well sure, its Standard! I thought however the issue was that it
"reverted" back to standard from enterprise.
