How to remove the First Administrative GroupWe are a Univ. and we have two Administrative Groups and would like to remove/delete one (with all of the mailboxes and address books). We don't want to keep or move anything. We would like to delete the "First Administrative Group" with all the servers and mailboxes. It is a three node cluster running Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003 sp2. We have "out sourced" (hosted off-site) ALL student email and no longer need this cluster or the "First Administrative Group". However, we do have another Administrative group called "Academic Administrative Group". So we don't want to do anything that will stop this group from working. Any ideas on how to remove the "First Administrative Group"? Bottom line, we don't want to break the 2nd Administrative while removing/deleting the "First Administrative Group". TIA, Clayton If you have any mailboxes still in use that might have originally been
created in thhe First Administrative Group, deleting it will break free/busy for them. I recommend that you not take the risk and instead just leave the administrative group in existence without any servers in it. -- Show quoteHide quoteEd Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." .. Thanks for the reply, All students were in the "First Administrative Group" and they have ALL been moved to a hosting company (http://get.liveatedu.com/Education/Connect/). It's a free service Microsoft has for University's where they host student email for free. Now that we have moved ALL student acct. to that, we don't need those Exchange 2003 servers (or mailboxes) anymore and would like to delete/remove them. ALL student mailboxes were in the "First Administrative Group" and ALL Faculty & Staff mailboxes are in another (2nd) administrative group. We would like to get rid of the "First Administrative Group" with it's servers and mailboxes but we wanted to know that steps for doing that, and if there were any problems we might have removing the "First Administrative Group". Given its name of "First Administrative Group", I assume that it's the administrative group that holds the public folder tree, so you would be wise to leave it be after removing all the servers from it. -- Show quoteHide quoteEd Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." ..
