Cannot mail via Distribution group!!!Hello,
I have a problem when using the Distribution Groups in Exchange 2003! As the default user when I try to send any external e-mails via the Distribution Group the mail gets rejected! I then receive a non delivery mail containing the message that I do not have permission to send to the recipient! Please advice where I can set the permission, so that every user is allowed to send external e-mail via the Distribution Group. I would also appreciate your technical advice in order to ascertain what mistakes I have made and how I should rectify matters. Thanking you in advance, Herman Franssen Hello Neo and co,
Your solution did not work. I still cannot send mail external via the Distribution Group! What i can tell is that the systemc account wich is a member of the administrators can mail without any problems via the Distributiongroup! Just the default user have this problem? Please help... external via the distribution group. Does this mean you are trying to email the distribution group using an internet email account (e.g. hotmail, yahoo, home isp, .etc) or you are trying to send something using the distribution group as the "from" email address in Outlook when connected to Exchange? The last option you mentioned is what want! I created a Distribution group Sales for example. The Alias of that group is named sa***@domain.com. Now i want to send an e-mail under the name Sales. When the people of sales do that as being a default user they are not allowed to mail from that group! When I send the mail as being the administrator, everything is working as i planned it to. But where do i set those permissions for the default user! I don't want to make every user equivalent to administrator as you can imagine.... Any brighter now? in question. Open ADUC that came with Exchange System Manager. Select View > Advanced Features (check mark should be on next to this). Go to the distribution list in question and bring up the properties. Go to the security tab to add/set the necessary right.
