Question about Exmerge and migrating large mailboxes by exporting to PST filesHi,
We have a remote site on our domain that connects to our head office via a DSL connection. It has only a handful of users but the mailbox sizes can be up to 3 gig in size. As a test, used Exmerge to export one mailbox to a pst file, which I then copied out of hours on to one of the servers based in the head office. I deleted most of the users's mailbox items and used Active Directory to move his mailbox (reduced to about 2MB from 150MB) to the HQ server. I imported the users's emails back from the pst file into his mailbox, and it all seemed to work fine. However, at the end I noticed the mailbox was about 20MB smaller than what it was before the migration, and that it contained EXACTLY 5000 mails, which I thought was a suspiciously precise figure. Does Exmerge only allow a set number of emails to be exported? If that is the case, then it is completely useless for the planned migration of the other user accounts from the remote office. Thanks. PST's have had a limit og 2 gig in the past. When exporting large
mailboxes, it is better to do multiple extractions (you can use by date, for example) to make sure you get them all.... <quentinhud***@hotmail.com> wrote in message Show quote news:1131621168.137305.319940@g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > > > Hi, > > We have a remote site on our domain that connects to our head office > via a DSL connection.
