the message can not be deliverd because of a configuration errorI am getting an error with the sending of external mail via Exchange server
in SBS 2003 SP1 The following address(es) were not reached: i***@emailadres.net on 12-11-2005 16:25 the message can not be deliverd because of a configuration error on the server. please contact the administrator. <Domain.nl #5.3.0 smtp;553 5.3.0 <Administra***@domain.nl>... No such user> I think it has something to do with the relay restrictions of SP1 on SBS 2003, but how can I turn this of. I did install the Windows 2003 SBS pre SP1 and did not have this problem. Using the pop/smtp account in outlook works fine to send external email. But using the exchange account gives the error. Email comming in by pop3 connector SBS 2003 works fine too. When you send mail from your Exchange mailbox, you aren't relaying mail - Exchange is sending it directly out to the recipient's server, or forwarding all outbound Internet mail to another SMTP server as a smarthost (depending on how you set it up). Why are you mixing/matching accounts in outlook? I would avoid this. It doesn't give you the full functionality of Exchange, you can't use OWA for everything while out of the office, etc - I'd desist & instead let Exchange handle all your mail. I'd even ditch the POP connector if it were me...use a registered internet domain name & host your own mail directly. Note that SBS questions are best asked in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs - you should get a lot of help in there. And we can not change the MX record for this mail address. It did work in 8 other cases in pre sp1 installation Note that SBS questions are best asked in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs - you should get a lot of help in there. I will ask it overthere as well. Tnx for the trouble. |
