Address book - public foldersis it possible to place all of the email addresses in the Active directory in
a public folder where they are available to all users through outlook? Is there a better way of making company wide addresses available to all users? Thanks They already are -- it's called the "Global Address List" or GAL. Hit the
address book in Outlook and make sure "Global Address List" is selected under the Address Book field at the top left. -- Show quoteAloha, -Ben- Ben M. Can create Contacts for external users so they show up in Address LIsts/GAL as well. -- Show quoteBharat Suneja MCSE, MCT www.zenprise.com blog: www.suneja.com/blog ----------------------------------------- "instauratio" <instaura***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:61E28772-533E-4FC4-AEF9-84B1DAF651C0@microsoft.com... > is it possible to place all of the email addresses in the Active directory > in > a public folder where they are available to all users through outlook? > > Is there a better way of making company wide addresses available to all > users? > > Thanks Thanks for the quick response. It's possible that I'm missing something. But,
I'm in OWA right now and I see no evidence of any contact list except one that is empty of any contacts. Am I missing something. It's quite possible that the application is not configured correctly. Maybe I need to change a setting somewhere? thanks Show quote "Bharat Suneja" wrote: > Internal users (mailboxes on Exchange servers) should be in Address > Lists/GAL. > Can create Contacts for external users so they show up in Address LIsts/GAL > as well. > -- > Bharat Suneja > MCSE, MCT > www.zenprise.com > blog: www.suneja.com/blog > ----------------------------------------- > > > "instauratio" <instaura***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:61E28772-533E-4FC4-AEF9-84B1DAF651C0@microsoft.com... > > is it possible to place all of the email addresses in the Active directory > > in > > a public folder where they are available to all users through outlook? > > > > Is there a better way of making company wide addresses available to all > > users? > > > > Thanks > > > You can't browse the GAL in OWA without using 3rd party utilities like
MessageWare PlusPack (http://www.messageware.com/products/05_pluspack.html) installed on your Exchange server. Try typing the name of a recipient in your org, and hit Ctrl-K. The recipient should resolve. Or log in using Outlook - you will see the GAL. -- Show quoteBharat Suneja MCSE, MCT www.zenprise.com blog: www.suneja.com/blog ----------------------------------------- "instauratio" <instaura***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:142ACB4D-44E9-4701-BC6F-C52AFFDB2D09@microsoft.com... > Thanks for the quick response. You can't browse the GAL per se in OWA but in Exchange 2003 you can open the Address Book search from the toolbar and type in a user or two to query. Plus resolution of addresses should still work. -- Show quoteAloha, -Ben- Ben M.
