SMTP Logs Question

Hello

We have an issue where someone has sent an email it has said it has been
sent but the reciepient has not recieved it.  I know this could be down to
about 100 possible reassons, but let me explain a little further.  We send
out a weekly newsletter via a  emailing utility. This newsletter goes to all
our members and alot of our staff are also members (this is how we noticed
that the email has not been recieved) We are using Symantec Mail Security 4.6
and i have checked this to make sure that the messages have not been deleted
or quarintined etc and this has not happened.  Other members (who are not
staff) have recieved the email.  The email facility uses SMTP to send so it
does not go through outlook or another mail client. So, by the sending of
this email by SMTP it effectlivly leaves the building then comes back in.  I
have checked the log files in the

\\exchnageserver\C$\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\SMTPSVC1

location, and there is entries for this email that has been sent.  It was my
understanding that if there is a log in here for this email with the FROM
address and the TO address then this email has been sent / left our exchange
server.

Can some one please let me know if this is anymore i can check to make sure
that this email did in fact go through the exchnage server as my manager is
getting worried that members have not recieved this email

I know that this is a bit of a stange one but any help would be great

Thanks

Gareth
