Hi guys,

Seems like the RUS service is not working.

Let me tell you what i did recently and maybe it was due to this.

This was my previous setup:
DC1 = Original DC Windows 2000
DC2 = Windows 2000
EX1 = Exchange 2000 SP4 Server

I then added a new DC with Windows 2003 so I got the following
DC1 = Windows 2000
DC2 = No longer a DC / Just a Member server
DC3 = Windows 2003 DC
EX1 = Exchange 2000 SP4 Server

I followed the simple steps to upgrade my AD:
1. Move Global Catalog to DC1 using article
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=313994

2. Using Scenerio 2 in article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314649
    a Run ldifde -i -f inetorgpersonprevent.ldf -v -c DC=X "dn path for
forest root domain"
    b ADPREP /forestprep
    c ADPERP /domainprep

3. DCPROMO DC3

4. Verify DNS and Sysvol are replicating

5. DCPROMO DC2 ( to turn it into a member server )

Is there anything I need to do so that AD 2003 talks to my Exchange 2000
Server? I was wondering if I need to run Exchange ADPREP again?

G.

None of the new created objects get a email address generated.

DNS is perfectly running.

No errors in event logs.

BUMPED UP MSExchangeSA / NSPO Proxy

I am assuming that Excahnge is talking to my DC using the following Event:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: MSExchangeAL
Event Category: LDAP Operations
Event ID: 8012
Date:  3/13/2006
Time:  11:59:56 AM

Description:
Search of directory dc1.mydomain.com at base 'CN=Recipient Update
Services,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=Theratechnologies,CN=Microsoft
Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=theratech,DC=com' returned 0
objects. DC=mydomain,DC=com

Recommend running Domainprep again - this may be a permissions issue. 8012
should return (at least) 2 RUS objects, 1 for the Domain and 1 for
Enterprise Config.

- Not sure what runs 4 times.
