I am currently in the process of migrating from Exchange 2000 SP3 to Exchange
2003 SP2.  When a user moves to a Exchange 2003 server they have a folder
created called "Spam Mail" with an "Approved Senders List".  This is causing
some confusion for my users because we have a spam filter in place already
and it places spam in the Outlook 2003 folder "Junk Mail".  I would like to
know if it is possible to remove the "Spam Mail" folder and redirect the
messages to "Junk Mail"

I cannot seem to find anything about this folder.  I would like to know the
criteria it uses and be able to make changes to these settings if possible.

If anyone knows where to change remove this feature please let me know.

Thanks
Ace

That sounds like Trend Micro to me - it isn't Exchange. Are you running
ScanMail 7?

Yes I am running ScanMail 7.  It does not do that with Exchange 2000 though?

No idea - I haven't used that version with E2000. You can configure a lot of
this stuff in the Trend console - if you need more help, contact their tech
support.

Hello Ace,

Thank you for posting.

First, thanks to Lanwench for his help.

According to my knowledge, the Spam Mail folder was created by SCANMAIL
during the installation. We are not sure about the functions of this
folder. If you delete or redirect this folder, it may cause some potential
issues. So we suggest you contact Trend Micro for help. I believe you will
find an authoritative answer  from Trend Micro.

If you have any further questions, feel free to let me know. Have a good
day.

Sincerely,
John Chen, MCSE, MCSA, MCDBA, MCSD

Both are correct it was SCANMAIL that was causing this.  I removed it from
SCANMAIL and the folder has been removed from Exchange.  Thanks for your help.
