HELP: write-protected contactsHello,
for some reason I don't know we have write protected contacts in our public contacts folder. When I open one of these, it says "(write-protected)" after the contact's name in the title bar of the window and I cannot change and save these contacts. I am quite sure that it has nothing to do with other users who open the contacts at the same time because the contacts which are write-protected are always the same. Also the problem occurs when there is nobody in the office, besides me. Any ideas? Thank you! Rainer On Thu, 16 Mar 2006 20:53:22 +0100, Rainer Hubovsky

"write-protected" was my poor translation. ;-) On Fri, 17 Mar 2006 16:22:23 +0100, Rainer Hubovsky

If you right click and select the properties of the folder and you don't see a permissions tab then you won't have perms to do much. If you're an Exchange admin you can go into Exchange System Manager and drill down to Public Folders towards the bottom of the screen. Get the properties of the folder and click "client permissions". This will tell you who can do what. What does it say there? In article <5ell12pjg1uqji1uooo3s29pdljbdqq***@4ax.com>, Mark Arnold [MVP]

I can change most of the contacts, but not all of them. I gave three people full access on that folder but they also cannot change all of the contacts... |
