HELP: write-protected contacts

Hello,

for some reason I don't know we have write protected contacts in our
public contacts folder. When I open one of these, it says
"(write-protected)" after the contact's name in the title bar of the window
and I cannot change and save these contacts.

I am quite sure that it has nothing to do with other users who open the
contacts at the same time because the contacts which are write-protected
are always the same. Also the problem occurs when there is nobody in the
office, besides me.

Any ideas?

Thank you!
  Rainer

It actually says the very words "Write-protected"?

No, it says the very german words "schreibgeschuetzt", which means that you
can only read the contact but not modify it. "write-protected" was my poor
translation. ;-)

Ahh, ok. "read only" is probably closer to what they wanted to say
which is OK now we know it's a translation disconnect.

Anyway, who has permissions on that PF Contact folder? If you right
click and select the properties of the folder and you don't see a
permissions tab then you won't have perms to do much.

If you're an Exchange admin you can go into Exchange System Manager
and drill down to Public Folders towards the bottom of the screen. Get
the properties of the folder and click "client permissions". This will
tell you who can do what.

What does it say there?

I don't think it is a permission problem. Even though I am an admin and
have full control on that folder I can not change all the contacts in the
folder. I can change most of the contacts, but not all of them. I gave
three people full access on that folder but they also cannot change all of
the contacts...
