We are trying to remove an Exchange 5.5 server from our 2003 domain but are
having a problem doing so. The Exchange 5.5 server was uninstalled from the
Win NT server it was installed on but before the uninstall it was not removed
via system manager. It is still listed in system manager but there is not an
option to delete the server when you right click on it. We have tried to
reinstall the Exchange 5.5 server but when try to have it join the site we
get "the system cannot find the file specified. ID No: 0xc0020002". I can
have it create a new site using the same ou and site info and can create an
a/d connector to it. Any suggestions on how we can remove it?

You actually need to install the 5.5 Exchange Administrator from the
E2K3 CD onto the E2K3 server. Then use Exchange Admin to remove the
5.5 server. If that's the last 5.5 box you can then uninstall the
Exchange Administrator component.

We have tried that and we still cannot remove it. Did some more research and
we have decised that we are going to use ADSI edit to remove the entries.
