Hi All & MVPs,
I have a question and would like to have an expert advise regarding.
Exchange Server Co- Location. At present we have exchange Server located
in our company premisis which serves to 1500+ employees What is your
openion about Co-location. The nearest ISP is 150 + Kms. Do you suggest to
go with  the existing setup to be in the company or opt for ISP.Note: There
are less remote users and all users are with in the compnay only few users
who are on vacation or business trip use webmail access to see the email.

I am doing a fesibility study in this regards. Kindly advise and if you
could give me any documents or presentations or website links which supports
your suggestion i appricate. If i get advantages and disadvantages of the
proposed solution would be greatful.

Thanking you.

Best Regards
Kris

My primary consideration would be bandwidth. You are going to need an awful
lot of it to support 1500 users.
An AWFUL lot of it! I don't think you would realize any cost savings, so
what are you hoping to gain?

Thank you Martin

How do i convence this to my management. Can you suggest any documents
,links or proof that i can  tell that there is no use in going for the
co-location server. How do i say this. I  might have to give a evidence or do
a presentation. If you have a sample list of advantages or disadvantes
technically or put in feasiblity study.

Thank you once again..

Ill have to check my archives.
I know at one time we had a discussion about the amount of bandwidth used by
each Outlook client. How much do you have now?

I honestly don't think you are going to find any supporting documentation
anywhere unless its marketing documentation from an outsourcing provider.
You will probably have to research this yourself unless some other poor soul
has had to do the same.
