Installing MS06-019

Tried to install this patch on 10 Exchange 2003 SP 2 servers. 6 of them
installed the patch in 15 minutes each and the other 4 I had to stop after
an hour because the window I had for the servers to be down passed.

There was no errors, nothing in event viewer, task manager said the install
was running but the progress meter seemed to stop.

I may try again this evening but I wanted to see if anyone had this happen
to them and how they got around it?

TIA

Stop all exch, IISADMIN and 3rd Party Services ( AV, MOM etc, before
applying)

I'll give that a try, but it seemed to have stopped all the services
successfully. These servers run the same third party services that the
others that applied the update successfully, run.

Any other ideas?

Try that first. Many times something hangs in the background and you just
don't know.

So this is a great method and often a huge time saver.
