Move/replace Server 200/2003Currently we are running A PDC with Win2K/Exchange 2K.
I am adding another server, Win2003 and Exchange2003. Is it mandatory for me to upgrade the Exchange 2000 to 2003, or can I just ad the 2003 box, and move the users to the new system. Once I have them on the new server, I am going to open up to an external IP (we currently only use the public folders for contacts and calendars). My goal is to open it for OWA. Ideas? Comments? public folders to it. I'd recommend keeping the old box and (once the clients have adjusted and are pointing to the new mailbox server) reconfiguring it as a front end server if possible; I prefer to not have direct connections from the internet to my mailbox servers. You will use SSL, right? Good idea about the front end. Yes, I will use SSL. My question now, I really want to offload as much work off that poor old Compag as I can. I am hoping to make it only the PDC, and file server, putting a smaller print Server online also What load will the front end usage place on the Compaq?
