Hi everybody!

I am just a newbie and just starting to learn Windows server and exchange, I
have a question which may be too easy for you guys that is why im asking for
some tips.
here is the scenario first; I have installed a W2k3 DC on my PC using a
local DNS, I want to install an exchange server to the same PC.
my question is; Does local DNS support Exchange 2003? can i configure my
exchange to receive/send e-mail locally with a member client PC?
Thanks in advance for the help!

If you mean, can you use Exchange for intra-office mail on the network,
absolutely. You don't need any Internet connectivity at all to run Exchange,
really.

You might want to do some reading on AD/DNS - get a couple of basic books on
the topic, even. Note that it would be best to have Exchange on a member
server, but if this is a test/lab environment it won't be a problem (and you
can certainly run Exchange on a DC in the 'real world' although it isn't
recommended practice).

If you're setting up a server for real/production use, a) do some
practice/throwaway installs first, and consider using virtual machines for
testing and b) you might look into SBS which makes things a lot easier for
the inexperienced, via its plethora of wizards
