Multi-Backend serversHI everyone,
How to setup exchange with multi-back end servers,(i.e. multi mailbox storage servers), where does the mail record should point to? They are all using the same domain (e.g. x**@abc.com), and also, when setting up users on outlook, do we have to know which server their mailbox are on?(i.e. point to the right exchange server?) I am running exchange 2003. Cheers - When users use Outlook, they will need to know their mail server name in
order to create their Outlook profiles. - Not sure what you meant by "maril record should point to" - did you mean the MX record in your external DNS zone? If yes, that typically points to either a SMTP host in a perimeter network (DMZ), or an Exchange bridgehead that handles outbound/inbound mail. If you don't have either, you can point it to the A record of any Exchange server. The receiving Exchange server will deliver the messages based on AD lookups. -- Show quoteBharat Suneja MVP - Exchange www.zenprise.com NEW blog location: www.exchangepedia.com/blog ---------------------------------------------- "Roy T" <R***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:E81224C9-B55D-4BE9-A5C6-4E762A27E48D@microsoft.com... > HI everyone, > > How to setup exchange with multi-back end servers,(i.e. multi mailbox > storage servers), where does the mail record should point to?
