Hi,

We have a customer who can't send us email but we can.  We're both using
Exchange 2003.

I run SMTP diagnostics on our side and it's fine.  But when I got SMTP
diagnostics from they're part.  In the fourth phase of the SMTP diag, they
got these:

*************************
Sent:
ehlo customer.com

Received:
421 5.5.2 Syntax error (command line too long)

Warning: Expected "250". Server does not support EHLO.
Sent:
helo customer.com

Failed to receive data. Error: 10054
Received:

Sent:
mail from: <na***@customer.com>

Sending data to the server failed. Error: 10054
Failed to submit mail to mail.company.com.
*************************

How do we fix this kind of problem?

Thanks,
Ricky

That you are both running Exchange 2003, and the distant end does not accept
elho extentions leads me to believe that you have a firewall secure daemon
or proxy that does not support the esmtp extentions in the path.  Turn it
off.
