Message restrictions - will they stop spammers?Ok, probably a Exchange 101 question here, but if we have an All Company list
and we have a Message restriction set for accepting messages, what happens if someone from outside our company sends to our All Company list? I assume it'll be blocked. Now, if I am external and send an email and spoof the address of someone who does have the rights to send to the All Company list, will it work? Also doubting it wll. Just need clarification! Depending on what restriction you set - if you set it to receive from
particular users in your Org, that's based on those users' accounts, not their SMTP addresses. So someone sending as them from outside is not likely to succeed. If you select "Authenticated Users", the group cannot get mail from internet senders at all. -- Show quoteBharat Suneja MVP - Exchange www.zenprise.com NEW blog location: www.exchangepedia.com/blog ---------------------------------------------- "JMS" <J**@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:AEC93623-340E-42ED-88F1-0408624AA965@microsoft.com... > Ok, probably a Exchange 101 question here, but if we have an All Company > list > and we have a Message restriction set for accepting messages, what happens > if > someone from outside our company sends to our All Company list?
