Exchange 2003 and Active Directory Users and Computers.Does anyone know if active directory user and computer write any data locally
in the exchange server when you run it from the exchange server? Thanks in advance. Not unless your Exchange Server is a DC too.

trying to understand how AD users and computer is query from the exchange box, no to mention that the size of the ntds.dit is 1.5 GB. At first, I thought that MacAfee was scanning the NTDS file, in other words, the outbound traffic from the closest DC. Furthermore, the file ntds.dit was scan again at the inbound traffic in the exchange box. As of right now, I know that the slow performance in AD users and computer to appear at the screen in the exchange box is due to the file size. Any comments, I will appreciate it. this the same site ( I could see this being an issue if you were over a WAN or slow connection). This is more Windows AD question, I would try to post the Windows AD Group too see if they can help you further. I would personally start by running DCDIAG and NETDIAG. -- Show quoteJohn Oliver, Jr MCSE, MCT, CCNA Exchange MVP 2006 Microsoft Certified Partner "Martin" <Mar***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:44905751-DE20-4521-ABCE-9BE5154DDB56@microsoft.com... > At my office, I've been told that AD is slow (performance wise).
