Hi,

In Exchange 2007, for a mailbox user to be capable of opening all the
other mailboxes in the oraganisation i.e to have administrative capabilities
at mailbox level, what are the permissions needed and how are they provided?

Regards,
Mahadev

I think it is possible in  Exchange 2003, where i can make a user  a member
of certain Administration Groups. But it is not working in Exchange 2007? The
architecture is rather changed. Please letme know , is it possible?

If you look at the security settings you'll notice that Exchange
Administrators have DENY on Send As and on Recieve As.  You need to turn off
the deny for the account you wish to use to access.

Hi,
Its a gr8 link . The doc was pretty good.

In that  doc two queries were given . As follows,

1) To use the Exchange Management Shell to grant full access permissions for
a mailbox
----Run the following command to add the permission directly to the mailbox:

Add-MailboxPermission "Mailbox" -User "Trusted User" -AccessRights FullAccess

2)To use the Exchange Management Shell to grant Receive As permissions for
a mailbox database
---Run the following command to add the permission to the mailbox database:

Add-ADPermission -Identity "Mailbox Store" -User "Trusted User"
-ExtendedRights Receive-As

I tried to make the permissions on the  mailbox Directly, and i succeeded
(i.e i am able to open that "User mailbox" with OWA, using the "Trusted user"
Credentials).

But, when i tried to make permission on the entire mailbox store, I failed.
Even I restarted the Exchange IFS and also other services. Still i am not
able to make it.

Because, in real time there will be thousands of mailboxes in a Ex Server
2007, I cant provide permission individually for each mailbox. Please help me.

Regards,
Mahadev
