Problem with using OWA and Sharepoint with NTLM authenticationI have a problem with having to re-authenticate (login window pops up again) when connecting over the internet to my OWA after I have already logged into Sharepoint (both are in same domain) and both sites are using Windows Authentication in IIS. I always thought that if Internet Explorer has received NTLM authentication for my domain, it wouldn't prompt me if I went to another subdomain in the domain like OWA. OWA is on one server and Sharepoint on another and both are in the same local domain (OWA is the primary DC and Sharepoint is secondary DC). My sharepoint uses support.mysite.com.au as the external domain name and OWA uses mail.mysite.com.au as the external domain. I have added *.mysite.com.au in the trusted sites in Internet Explorer, but I still get prompted. I have been scratching my head about this for many weeks now and I haven't been able to find a solution anywhere. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. Cheers, TiCaL "Why" questions are fun, but they can be awfully hard to answer. I would
think that it's probably because when you log on to Exchange, you're not really logging on to Exchange, but passing credentials so that Exchange can log on on your behalf. -- Show quoteEd Crowley MVP - Exchange "Protecting the world from PSTs and brick backups!" I had this issue and i resolved by adding OWA into trusted zones (IE) and changed the custom level on client for User Authentication to automatic logo only in intranet zone (last custom) There is nothing you can do at the server level (i maybe wrong) J Show quote "TiCaL" <Ti***@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:C273A4EE-CB6A-45DA-A75A-10E2BAAF21F3@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > I have a problem with having to re-authenticate (login window pops up > again) > when connecting over the internet to my OWA after I have already logged > into > Sharepoint (both are in same domain) and both sites are using Windows > Authentication in IIS. > > I always thought that if Internet Explorer has received NTLM > authentication > for my domain, it wouldn't prompt me if I went to another subdomain in the > domain like OWA. > > OWA is on one server and Sharepoint on another and both are in the same > local domain (OWA is the primary DC and Sharepoint is secondary DC).
