Exchange 2000 store sizeYou'll probably be reminding me of something I've forgotten but...
Recently an Exchange 2000 store reached limit, did 1GB temp increase, reduced Deleted Items Retention to 1 day, got users to clear out mailboxes, waited, offline defrag, restart. My 1221 on the Mailbox store now says 2MB free after online defrag. The total reported size of all mailboxes adds up to ~10GB, why does the file size of .edb+.stm still run ~15GB (10.2+4.8)? I think I may have answered this m'self.
---from a related kb--- For example, a mailbox may appear to use only 250 MB of space in Exchange System Manager, but the total space that the mailbox uses may be 450 MB. This difference occurs because the 200 MB of space that the Priv.stm file uses does not appear in Exchange System Manager. ---endquote--- I need them to clear out more. So the question changes. Is there a way to identify who has significant content in the .stm? and which items they are? I understand that the .stm is 'internet' rather than 'local' (basic). Dumpster content doesn't show up in mailbox sizes. -- Show quoteEd Crowley MVP - Exchange "Protecting the world from PSTs and brick backups!"
