Hello,

In my lan I have Exchange 2003 sp2,  Symantec Mail Security for SMTP 5.0.1
in a dmz for mail sniffing and all users use Outlook 2003. One user receive
muliple copy of the same email (size, date,subject, ID) from a specific
sender. I called the sender and no duplicate email in his Sent Items. Another
strange thing is this email is address to 4 users (cc) in my office but only
one specific user receive duplicate emails. Message Tracking in exchange show
me just one email from the sender to my user but when I clic on the email for
more detail, twice delevered not in the same time.

6:01 AM SMTP: Message Delivered Locally to multiple recipients
6:01 AM SMTP: Store Driver: Message Delivered Locally to Store to User1;
User2; User3: User4
10:34 AM SMTP: Message Delivered Locally to multiple recipients
10:34 AM SMTP: Store Driver: Message Delivered Locally to Store to User1;
User2; User3: User4

Thanks for your support.

Just because the user doesn't have multiple copies in Sent Items doesn't
mean he didn't send the message multiple times.  Outlook will sometimes send
mail multiple times when it's using POP or IMAP with SMTP (as opposed to
MAPI RPC).  You might check the Internet headers of the multiple copies,
perhaps they have different time stamps and that'll reveal where the
duplicating might have happened.

I check the header of each two same email and the only difference in the
header is that:

header on email#1
X-OriginalArrivalTime: 03 Oct 2007 07:01:28.0226 (UTC)
FILETIME=[383E5020:01C8058B]

header on email#2
X-OriginalArrivalTime: 03 Oct 2007 14:31:33.0862 (UTC)
FILETIME=[18DB5860:01C805CA]

Your conclusion?
