Do you have a Cisco PIX firewall?  If so, disable the Mailguard feature.

Sorry.

Actually they were using a Cisco pix. I turned off mailguard ,but it still
does the same thing. Do we have to reboot the server or anything? Any other
suggestions? Will upgarding outlook to 2003 or 2007 fix it ?

Thanks in advanced.

I asked because those strange banners sometimes indicate Mailguard is in
place.

The strange delivery reports are coming from whare?

It looks like it is coming from Exchange.  An example below:  What's weird
is within outlook 2002 the delivery reciept is in chinese characters ,but if
you view the delivery receipt through OWA it's in english.

Relayed: test
Microsoft Exchange
Sent: **************
To: *************
Delivery to these recipients or distribution lists is complete, but delivery
notification was not sent by the destination:

'm***@netsys-tech.com'

Subject: test

Thanks in advance.

Does the message have Internet headers?  Are there any clues in there?

Hi Ed,

I am also facing the same problem.  Whereas we are not using any Cisco PIX.

What might be the reason.  I have checked the headers and found nothing
suspectable.

Thanks in Advance,

Regards,
Denis Dudhia

We too have exactly the same problem.  We noticed that the text also appears
fine if you forward the receipt.  I am assuming that it simply opens the same
code in a different outlook form which is capable of displaying the receipt
text fine.  Read receipts are fine, the problem only appears to be with
delivery receipts.

I was thinking that we could bin the delivery receipt form and re-create
from a copy of the read receipt form but I would have no idea how to do
that!?!
