Choosing a NIC for synchronization

Hi,

Our Exchange Server has two NIC (also used for OMA)
I 'm looking for a way to select only one NIC card (and not the other) when
the PDA are synchronizing

In fact, the synchronization works well when I deactivate one NIC but as I
activate both, the synchronization doesn't work anymore.

When I look at the IIS log, It seems that the Activesync tries to
synchronize on the wrong NIC.

Thanks in advance,
Hervé -

Multihoming your Exchange server is not recommended.  You would be better
served to look at Teaming your Nics.

Hi,

I know this not a good practice.

But since we need to use two NIC (one network is used for saving exchange
and we are obligated to deactivate it).

If you mean backing up Exchange then you should configure your NICs
properly so that the HTTP(s) traffic is not exposed to the card.

Hi,

Note that OWA works well on the same server with 2 NIC but not with OMA.
In the IIS log, when both cards are enabled, we see that ActiveSync tries to
connect to the wrong network (the backup network).

Thus I think we should find a way to tell to ActiveSync : "choose this NIC".

You can tell it, but I don't think it's going to pay much attention.
Multihomed servers are generally a Bad Thing.

My multi-homed, load-balanced front-end servers do very well, thank
you.
