Connecting Outllook 2003 Client To Exchange 2007 for the first timAfter configuring the first exchange server 2007 on the network we connected
the clients. Before the server the Outlook clients were connected to pop accounts hosted by an oustide company. Configuring the Outlook clients for the first time, to connect to the exchange 2007 server, we were prompted to answer a question that was something like "........would you like to use the settings on the client or would you like to use the settings from the server..........." I chose "client" side settings because I was assuming there were some features installed/configured on each of the users computers that they might want to keep. I thought if i chose to go with "server settings" that i would disrupt/confuse the end users with too much change or new functionlity, like deleting some rule or something. Now I am wondering what are the differences? What are the pros/cons of either option? I cannot find the answer anywhere. I don't know if there is some functionality i am missing, like spam filtering on clients, because i made the choice to keep client settings. Any help would be appreciated. |
