Service Pack 2 for Windows 2003

I am going to begin installing w2003sp2. I am starting with our AD servers
(which currently have no service packs installed). Is there any issue
updating the DC servers without updating the exchange servers? The exchange
servers (five in a farm) are on w2003sp1 and EX2003 sp2, and will be updated
at a later time.

No, the two are not dependent.
