How do I create viewable public folders from instances?

Greetings,

I had a pub.edb file from an Exchange 5.5 box that I managed to mount in
Exchange 2003 using a new information store and public folder tree. I need to
see these folders in Outlook so I can extract information from them. The
folders show as public folder instances, but not under public folders. How do
I make these viewable in Outlook? Thanks much.

I get the impression you might have created a General Purpose Public
Folder rather than a MAPI PF. If that is the case you can't access it
from Outlook.
Can you clarify what you've created (and how) please, and advise.
