Public Folder PermissionsI've setup Public Folders and assigned permissions to the groups I'd like to
have access. The problem is that the 'Default User' must have the 'View Folder' box checked in order for the assigned "Reviewer' users to see the folder. Becasue the Default User has view rights, staff that shouldn't see the folder at all can now see it. They don't see the items in the folders but they can see the folders. Is there a way to have only authorized staff see folders without letting everyone see? Thanks, Tom Tom <ocho***@hotmail.com> wrote:

This works fine for me, presming the folder hierarchy is set up logically. You're using AD native mode, right? NB: you haven't included your version or SP level of Exchange or Windows, which is important. I'm presuming E2003. Thanks for the reply.
Yes, Exchange Enterprise 2003 (V6.5 Build 7638.2: Service Pack 2) running in Native Mode on the AD network. Do you remove permissions from the Default & Anonymous users? It's weird because I typically setup all rights explictly as well. I removed all rights from the default/anonymous users and set the rights as needed. When I uncheck the 'View Folder' from the Default user, it goes away for the 'Reviewers'. I don't even know where I'd start troubleshooting this... The problem was the specific user's AD profile. I removed the user from all groups and readded one by one and it worked. Weird.
