Measuring Concurrency

Hi

I am trying to work out a value to use for concurrency when sizing an
exchange environment.

I seen conflicting reports on what counter to use in Perfmon or even on how
to work a value out to use for concurrent users etc when sizing an exchange
environment.

We have

MsExchangeIS\Active User Count
MsExchangeIs\Active User
MsExchangeIS Mailbox\ Active Client Logons

Which counter should you use or any input would be useful on how to measure
concurrency etc

Thanks

Tony

Hello Tony,

Thank you for posting here.

According to your description, I understand that you want to find out a max
value of Active User your exchange server can work with. If I have
misunderstood the problem, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Based on my research, I find the following information:

"Planning an Exchange Server 2003 Messaging System"
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=21766

"Optimizing Storage for Exchange Server 2003"
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=49324

"Exchange Server 2003 Performance and Scalability Guide"
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=28660

"Troubleshooting Exchange Server 2003 Performance"
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=22811

"The Art and Science of Sizing Exchange 2003"
http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Art-Science-Sizing-Exchange2003-Part1.ht
ml

I hope these steps will give you some help.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best regards,
